FIRST DAY COLLECTION: Jolly LLB 2 Gets A Jolly Good Start Of Rs 13.20 Cr At The Box-Office!

After witnessing a big and intense clash at the box-office with Raees and Kaabil, here comes Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 with a strong start at the ticket windows.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to post the Friday collections of the film:
Subhash Kapoor’s sequel to Jolly LLB 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Annu Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Kumud Mishra and Huma Qureshi by the side. The film has received good response from the critics.

Akshay’s turn as an honest but hard-on-his-luck lawyer was appreciated and the witty banter in the film seems to have impressed the audience. Fans thronged theatres to watch the first day first show, and that shows in the box office collections.
As expected the film didn't have a blockbuster opening considering that it didn't come out on a long weekend or a holiday weekend. But strong word-of-mouth publicity is definitely going to help the movie collections grow over the weekend.
Unfortunately, Jolly LLB 2 ran into a legal controversy in the week of its release. After getting a clearance from the India's Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), the Bombay High Court intervened, demanding that four scenes be dropped.

However, after asking the Supreme Court to over-rule that decision, the film's producer, Fox Studios, changed its mind and said it will accept the edits ordered by the High Court. Reportedly, the makers didn’t want a delay in the release of the film.
Jolly LLB 2 ended the uninterrupted two–week run of Raees and Kaabil which released on January 25 and the film successfully attracted the crowds to the first show.
